Q:How to choose speakers?
A:Left and right channel speakers :
The 20W~300W speakers can be driven. It is recommended to use 3-8Ω full-range speakers.
Subwoofer :
The subwoofer channel can continuously output 350W of power, and 50-350W speakers can be driven. It is recommended to use 2-8Ω subwoofers, and the frequency of 20Hz-200Hz is the best. If the continuous output power of the speaker is lower than that of the power amplifier, the power supply voltage can be appropriately reduced, or the volume can be reduced to avoid distortion caused by the output power of the power amplifier being greater than the power of the speaker. If multiple speakers are used in parallel, the impedance must be above 3Ω after the left and right channel speakers are connected in parallel, and the impedance must be controlled above 2Ω after the speakers connected to the subwoofer are connected in parallel. If the impedance is too small, the power amplifier will easily enter the overcurrent protection state.
Q: If I have a 18V/10A DC power adapter connected to the power amplifier board, then the output power of the power amplifier board is equal to 180W?
A: This is wrong!
In the range of 18-36V, the higher the input voltage, the greater the output power. If you don't know how to choose a power source, please try this formula to help you choose a power source. P=U*U/R ; I=P/U, where P is the peak power, U is the input voltage, R is the speaker impedance, and I is the supply current. If your input power is 18V and the speaker is 4 ohms, then P=18*18/4=81W; I=81/18=4.5A, that is, if you choose a 18V power supply, its rated current is 4.5A enough.
